By committing to Pragma 2000, isn’t there the risk to loose control over my catalogue production process?
No, quite the opposite. The first step in the collaboration with Pragma 2000 consists in fact in formalizing the production process of the catalogue, so as to provide the client with the right tools that allow him to better control the process itself.

Is it essential to have a company database with the data ready for publication in it?
No. Pragma 2000, after a careful requirement analysis, will provide customized tools that will be used to collect and manage all the content for the catalogue.

What if my company database already contains all the information that need to be published? Can I use it?
Of course. Most of the times it is possible to export the data from it, so that it can be used for publishing.
Pragma 2000 already collaborated with the technicians of several clients in order to connect with Oracle, DB2, Access, Informix.

And what if the database is only partially complete?
In this case it will be necessary to develop a secondary database, that will integrate the main one, in order to fill up the missing parts.
For example, prices and descriptions may be found inside the company database, but information about picture placement is most certainly missing.
A complementary database provided by Pragma 2000 can be used for this.

If I fill up the database provided by Pragma 2000, can I reuse the content to integrate my company database, so as to spare data entry time?
Of course.
The databases provided by Pragma 2000 are open and data can always be exported and reused.

If the content resides in my – the client – database, and the actual publishing happens at Pragma 2000, how does the data exchange happen?
Is it a complicated procedure?

No, on the contrary, it is very simple.
Every client has an account on the Page On Demand System, a service provided by Pragma 2000 through a web interface, where it is possible to exchange data, generate pages of the catalogue and communicate with Pragma 2000.
Ftp, phone and fax are other services that are always available, of course.

I lay out my catalogue by myself.
I learnt how to use my favourite desktop publishing software.
Why should I throw everything out of the window and learn a whole new methodology from scratch?

Some clients make a remarkable effort in trying to gain experience in the press field.
By the way most of the times it if preferable to get help from companies that are specialized in this field, like Pragma 2000, in order to have warranty of success and avoid common pitfalls.
Pragma 2000 though, as opposed to traditional graphic agencies, does not aim to manage completely the publication, but leaves the whole control of it in the client’s hands by providing customized tools.
